Rep just called me
I am 5th or so on the list at a local Subaru dealership in PA.
Dealer just called and said he sent me a brochure on the STI, a receipt for my down payment and he told me that my price would be list, $31,500. No options at this time. Black with the silver rims. No one has ordered the gold!
He also noted that SOA does not control pricing at each dealership.
My rep also said that he knows of many dealerships that will hike up the price above MSRP like the Mitsu dealerships did with the Lancer. He heard that one place in CA wanted $20K above list??
Anyway as soon as I receive more info & the brochure I will post...

hey i just talked to my dealer, and they said it were expecting it to be in around june with no mark up.....they are a fairly small dealer so they are expecting 18 by the end of this year...about 2-3 a month and they also said **no 17-inch BBS gold rims will be on it, they said the STi will come in with silver stock 16-inch rims and the gold rims are for accessories**.. can anyone check their dealer and see if they said the same about the rims??
i hope the STi has the gold rims as showen everywhere plz check!!

Van Bortel Subaru in NY are the 3rd biggest dealership in the US and their allocation for '03 is only 10 STis in total.

I wouldn't count on 10 for the year.
I talked to my salesman at Van Bortel and he said they will probably fill at least 50 this year.
...no one really knows. It;s too early to tell.

I sincerely hope so. I placed my order with V.B. on Jan.18th and was 53rd on list...........I think I have subsequently moved up to ~43 on list, but have heard absolutely nothing positive from V.B. about getting a car this year.........in fact they didn't seem all that clued-up and didn't even know the price had been officially released to the public the last time I spoke with them (Saturday).
Anybody on i-club high up on the V.B list ??
