Price of the STi released? SOA Doesn't know...
What do you think about this reply from SOA?
Thank you for visiting the Subaru Web site and for your interest in a 2004 WRX STi. We in the Customer/Dealer Services Department have not yet received pricing information for the 2004 Impreza models, including the WRX STi. I do know that dealers have received pricing information for the 2004 Impreza models that are currently available at dealerships. However, I am not certain if they received pricing information for the 2004 WRX STi. Please contact your local Subaru dealer to check with them.
Thanks for the opportunity to be of assistance. If you need any future assistance, please feel free to contact us again.
Best wishes,
John J. Mergen

Is it true? Was the price of the STi released?

This same guy said the STi was not at the NY Auto Show when I wrote him. I sent him back a link to a picture of the car there and asked him to double check his sources. Obviously he is not very informed or Subaru has some internal communication problems.

The only question I have is why has the website not been updated? And how could they not have informed their employees? I have had Subaru's in the past and have always had good service and communication experience with that organization. Is this a sign of problems arising for the Subaru corporation? Should we think twice about getting a car from a corp. that may be having internal problems?
IMHO I don't know if I would go that far. Subaru is large and has a lot going on. To us the STi is big news and to a lot of the company it is too but it really is just one car in their entire line up and in the scheme of numbers will not be a "high volume" car. I'm not surprised that not everyone is up to date with all the information. Many insiders probalby are aware of the car being launched but are not involved in the intimate details like price, features, etc.

I work here at HP (Hewlett-Packard), and a lot of times, the customers have more info than I do on the products that HP is launching... It is just the massive number of products launched and the size of the company that can sometimes easily prevent one from having an accurate "big" picture.
I don't think this means that Subaru or HP is falling apart.
