Ordering an STi

Are dealers actually taking orders and/or deposits on Sti's...? Does it depend on the state or dealership...? I'm in Northern California and have not yet called or visited any local Subaru dealerships yet but i'm planning to very soon. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What part of N. CA do you live in? I'm in Albany (north of Berkeley) and just made a $500 deposit at Albany Subaru. The guy said that they are the 2nd largest Subaru dealer in N. CA (which I am not too sure if it's true) and will start getting the new STi in late May. The guy didn't promise anything on price but sounds like it's going to be over msrp. There are 6 guys in front of me. He said that he'll call me when my turn is up. The deposit gives me the right to buy but not an obligation to buy so it is refundable. I didn't call any other dealer in the area so I don't know the situation elsewhere. I like the car but not crazy enough to pay too much over msrp or have to get it the 1st month or so. If I don't like the price when they call me, I'll just pass and wait.
