BBS Sti wheels
Since rims and tyres are generally amongst the first mods contemplated, I just wanted to raise people's awareness regarding the standard BBS wheels we're getting on the US spec STi (same as the ***. STi spec C wheels)..............these 17x7.5 wheels are forged and I think weigh-in at around 16.9 lbs each......that's a pretty decent weight for such strong wheels (yes, I know SSR competitions, Volk's and possibly Fikse's may weigh slightly less, but BBS wheels are second to none in my opinion).
Also, if you do decide to swop-out the BBS rims, please realise what these are worth (or you may regret it later).......these are currently listed by RalliSpec at $799 each (yes, each).
As a point of comparison, the 17x8.5 forged BBS wheels which came as standard equipment on the 22B retail at around $1200-$1500 each (that's if you can find them. No BS, check out some of the UK Impreza forums).

BBs issues and complications...
No doubt dude the OEM BBS forged wheel is superior. They will be my track wheels with a set of hoosier d.o.t. race tires for the dry and I still have a set of Pirelli W6 wet slicks from my Porsche.
235-18 W6 are as sticky as a qualifying tire, with grooves in it.
I instruct @ Summit Point Raceway and get alot of track time and when it rains, I pull out the Subaru to serve up a big ole' plate to the Z06's, M3's, you name it, including the S4's(heavy).
I have no intention of selling or getting rid of the OEM STI wheels,.I just wanted some additional "bling" per say to go with all that torque !!
Subaru did the homework in the wheel department and they rule for giving us the good stuff.
In terms of BBS vs. Fikse, I have raced on both with the Porsche, and it's really like choosing,.between Ms. America or Ms. Universe, ...Its all good.!!
In the international racing community, if you try to sell either, there's more people out there to buy say ,2 sets of Fikse than the BBS. The BBS race wheels are 1400 each, the Fikse, $ 950.00.
So there is a big difference. The Fikse rim halves are easier to rebuild yourself. The BBs have to be set in a certain temp, with a special silicone sealer and it's like a high maintenance blond,....
( I better keep it down !!)
So anyway, ..I agree with you, The BBs are still big dogs, but the Fikse offer functional "bling" to your WRC street terror.
