If a stripper with the bare bones minimum and lightest possible shell were my goal then I'd go with a used Miata, Golf, ZX3 (stripped).
But then I'm not willing to live with a pure track car.
I can do without a radio and sound deadening, but I gotta have my power this & that. I spent too many years driving a Chevette with power nothing (not even steering which was an option!) and no A/C in my formative years to know that going back would supremely suck.

A stripper would be nice.
But, I would not give up anything in the car as it sits right now - the defroster needs the AC to really work right, and P/S is a must. and I would have gone crazy without a radio when I drove to PA last week. Road drone at 12:30AM is mind numbing.

I fyou really need these heavy itmes which will reduce your overall speed numbers and increase your Cg reducing your handling capability, just let your fingers do the walking through the Yellow Pages as in every major cityh there are custom installers for both of these items.

I'll say it again - not everyone races so at least offer them as an option.
If you race and are looking to keep your weight down, then don't get those as options and save some cash....

I do agree that they should atleast be offered as options, I would have gone for them, I mean **** if I really wanna cut weight I'd put down the ben and jerry's and pizza!
