Leather or Sunroof for STI??
Who here would like the STI to offer a leather or a Sunroof option?
I am a big fan of leather seats but unsure if this feature will be apropriate for the STI. I do know however that I would love to have a sunroof for the STI.

What they said. ^^
Race cars don't have sunroofs or leather seats, bling cars do.
I fyou really need these heavy itmes which will reduce your overall speed numbers and increase your Cg reducing your handling capability, just let your fingers do the walking through the Yellow Pages as in every major cityh there are custom installers for both of these items.
Personally I'd trade leather and a sunroof, as well as the radio, mats, insulation, thicker glass & thicker roof steel, any day for 0-60 in 4.76s & low 13 1/4 mile times and respect/fear of everythign on the road without either someone european guys last name emblazoned on the trunk (Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini), it being named after an animal (Viper, Cobra) or having a name that sounds like 'Battelship' game coordinates (M3, M5, Z06).
No flame intended but leather seats & sunroofs don't equate to speed, power, or handling only bling.

But they do equate to a more enjoyable ride (for some) who don't truely race, but love the raw power and killer handling with some elegant features like leather and sunroof...at least offer it as an option, no?

Both can be had easily via the aftermarket for those who gotta have it. Where does it end? DVD NAV, 8 way power seats, seat heaters, heated steering wheel, etc.? If those items are needed there is a Legacy or G35 with your name on it.

But not in the price range or pure power, unfortunately....
I heard aftermarket sunroofs void the Subaru warranty because there is a support bar that would have to be removed..
the leather is an easy aftermarket though...

Ok, but if a STi came with leather and a sunroof, it would cost about the same as a G35.

Worst though the additional weight and increased Cg & Cd (wind deflector!) would rob the STi of speed & handling ability possibly making these cars even closer to each other, on paper.
If someone wanted/needed a sunroof bad enough they could add it over the rear passnger area only, or go with the goofy Maxima see thru-roof that runs lengthwise along the roof or maybe even go retro and install T-tops!
None of which of course will make the car go faster, handle better or last longer. But hey fuzzy dice and mud flaps with naked woman cutouts don't do much for performance either and I see folks pushing that junk everyday. Just last night some dork suggested I install scissor doors on my STi.
To each there own...

my dealer does offer leather on anything. I had leather installed on my '99RS when it wasn't available from the factory.
I asked about the STi they said Sure! No problem.
I didn't go for it but I'm sure if I change my mind later they would hook me up.

An STi without power steering with thse big ol grippy tires equals driver with gorilla arms or Popeye. As for paying $32K for manual windows, locks and no A/C...in the words of Mike Tyson; "Thats ludicrous!".

Hmmm. You could be onto something. I wouldnt argue if they only charged $27.5k for the stripped down version. (For the love of god don't charge more like the M3CSL). And as a matter of fact, I just passed on buying a 93 miata. Instead, I'm buying a 1976 Datsun B210 for the GRM $2004 challenge.
