? does the STI ver 8 ECU have a speed limiter

I have just gotten my car together with an STI ver 7 drive train. And I have not upgraded the fuel pump yet ( dangerious I know)but I was driving back from an auto-x and had to try one run through the gears. Just fine untill 7K in 5th at around 110mph it felt like a rev limiter but I was unsure of what it was so I just slowed down. Please anyone with a ver 8 ECU?

It sure does. Around 112 MPH (180k/h). It will cut off at 180. I am pretty sure that it is a fuel cut, just like the boost cut. All Japanese cars must be limited to 180 from the factory.
