can we get a consensous on the break in period?

I have read all the threads on the break in period and nobody can agree. I dont want to know what a manual says or what a friend of somebodies says but i want to know how you broke it in and how it is running. How long did you break it on for and all the details. thanks

Its very very simple. Drive it!! Its not rocket science here, just get in and drive normally for 1000 miles.

Im driving pretty normal. But at times, maybe a couple of times a week I get on the gas a bit bringing her to 5 1/2 k at most.

Then I drop it back down and continue to drive normal.

Im at 690 miles and no problems. I also keep my RPM at around 3 1/2 to 4 k while cruising.

My ECU is learning that this aint gonna be no easy life, but im not killing the engine during breakin.

similar breaking in style as ProPain and no complaints at the moment (touch wood) now with around 6,000 miles on the click....

I always tried keeping the revs down turning the breaking in period but almost impossible to reisist the temptation!!!

Tried to keep it under 4K for the first 1,000 miles, then gradually increased the limit untill WOT runs to redline at around 1,400 miles. Changed oil with dino oil then. Seemed to run smoother, gearbox seems smoother now with the miles too. Will change to synthetics on the next change, around 4,000 miles. Running sweet!!! No pings...
