IMHO I like the TurboXS's turbo back for the STi so far. At least untill something better comes out. It seems to offer pretty decent power increases. Costs $1,126 so not obscenly pricy. It also gives an increase of 27.8HP and 13.6TQ, personaly I like more TQ, but who can argue with +27.8. Oh they even have a sound file for you at there site. http://www.turboxs.com/txs_tbe_sti.htm

BPM TT
I had the BPM TT and my buddy had the Turbo XS. The BPM sounded alot better in my ears and everyone elses too. All these systems claim 27 or so HP gain. Try about 10 to 12 HP. The BPM has the most wonderful deep beat to it. The Turbo XS is just a blah kind of sound.
Just my opinion.

Yep
K & N air filter 6-8HP for $40.00
BPM TT 10HP Dyno tested $1300.00
However the difference in turbo lag is amazing, and it makes the car much more fun to drive.
THERE IS NO SYSTEM OUT THERE THAT DOES MUCH MORE THAN ANOTHER, THERE JUST BENT 3 INCH PIPES. NOT MAGIC TUBES!!!!!

Thanks, man. I have an STi and I was thinking of doing a custom 3" turbo back with replaced up and downpipes, high-flo cat but keeping the nice stock tip and muffler. (i don't want melted bumpers) and I don't like the "fartcan" burnt muffler tips. What can I expect?
I have a TurboXS and I like it. I have one high flow cat so there is no CEL and only a slight discoloration. I have 3000 miles with the unit installed.

TurboXS dyno showed a 27.8 HP and 13.6 Tq increase with the turbo back and a race pipe.
I got mine from worldoneperformance.com for $1085.00 shipped.

real easy to fudge a dyno
Look at the new Car and Driver import shoot off. $82,000 WRX running slower than a STi. Wheres there proof? Read the Training WRX book put out buy MRT and they explain how dynos are only as acurate as the person opperating them wants them to be. SOOOO, think about it. Its my product im selling i sure want it to do good. Hmm?
What about 12 other tuners with 40,000 invested running 14 and 15 quarter miles. Anyone can make a dyno change the numbers if they know what there doing. So its your choice to believe what you want.
In the STi the cats are located in different areas and there is none i believe in the uppipe so dont bother replacing that piece. (mostly sure of this will go by my shop tommorrow and check). The lie that there is only 2 cats on the STi is WRONG, go look under the car and then talk to me.
Also that sound clip is not bad, but nothing compared to the BPM TT sound. I had the BPM my friend had the Turbo XS, no one liked his better.
Also remember around town its fun (except for cops), but on long trips it can be a very special experience.
Anyway i could care less about arguing, so this is just my two cence and i sure a hell dont know everything. (spelling included)
Exhausts are great fun and if you really want o make it the perfect system i will tell you a great trick that no one seem to think of tommorrow. Getting late. PEACE!

Vishnu Turbo-Back exhaust
I have the Vishnu Turbo-Back exhaust and love it. At first, I thought it was a bit loud, wasn't sure if I could live with it.
The exhaust not only sounds good, it performs. With the Xede and proper tuning, the car has made 260hp / 272lbs of torque (with 91 California gas) on a dyno dynamics dynamometer.
Of all the investments that I have made into the car, (Extreme Dynomats, Stereo, Speakers, Sub enclosure) the exhaust puts the biggest smile on my face.
Just wanted to share.

yes i recommend vishnu also, they are awesome!! and yes there no magic piping, its all 3 inch, as long as the configuration and mendrel bent is good, such as the hks exhaust hanging down too low, so low it scrapes going over bumps, thats a no no. get good mendrel bent piping that will not scrape.
