now.. do you notice the muffler and exhaust piping under the car?... its quite shiny.. this is the hks carbon titanium polished exhaust. notice how close it touches the ground, the car is already bone stock. and the hks piping is almost 1 inch away from the ground!! its way passed the rear differential.
dont get this if: 1.you dont want to scratch, even damage ur exhaust on dips or driveways or bumps because its 1inch away from the ground almost.
2. dont want cops to see a shiny big aftermarket exhaust hanging down under your wrx way pass the rear differential.
3. dont want to get pulled over.
dont get me wrong, the performance on this baby is effective, but there are other brands out there that can be just as effective or even more... such as..

im sure there are many peple that know about this, this is vishnu .
but im just making sure u know that this is way better than the hks, because..."Through countless hours of dynamometer testing, we’re finally proud to offer the nicest-sounding, nicest-looking and best-performing single-dump exhaust system we’ve ever tested on our dyno. Not only does it make more power than any other single-dump exhaust systems, it also looks very stock-like with its elegant dual exhaust tips. AND TUCKED HIGH UNDER THE CAR, THIS FULLY POLISHED AND RESONATED SYSTEM WILL NOT SCRAPE ON SPEEDBUMPS. The 4-piece design also makes for easy to installation and fitment."
also comes with single tip sti exhaust instead or sleeper dual tip look for a little better flow, or the best, signature series catless turbo back. check this important stuff out here: http://www.vishnutuning.com/parts_wrx.htm

this is what i am getting personally, same turbo back but with the catless specially designed all the way "3 inch downpipe.
"Upgrade to the ultimate exhaust system for your WRX. Beautifully crafted and designed for maximum performance, this system out-performs any exhaust system currently on the market. A very good match for systems with high flowing upgraded turbochargers when the divorced wastegate/bypass arrangement really makes a difference. Adds $300 to Stage 1 and 2."
"Lowest possible backpressure and turbulence levels coupled with low ultimate fit and finish. CNC-cut ½ inch flanges, high-grade 304 stainless steel construction, ultra-quality V-Band clamps, a close-coupled catalytic converter, a functional divorced wastegate bypass, a large muffler canister and careful pipe bending gives birth to the finest turbo-back exhaust system currently available for the WRX. No other exhaust system offers as broad a torque curve. Quiet during cruise and aggressive-sounding under boost, this exhaust system is for those who want maximum performance with minimal compromise. Available with or without catalytic converter." =)

now looking at the top of this post, the picture of the vishnu catless downpipe, if you look at the left of the picture, you notice that its catless and has the 3 inches all the way. this down pipe is different than the "other" divorced vishnu downpipe. the "other" one ends with the end of the downpipe having less than 3 inch piping, looking more like 2.5 2.8 watevers, but u would want the better flowing 3 inch all the way turbo back system.

Perfect point on how low the HKS hangs down... I was going to get that until I actually started to look at it and then say to my self "that really seems like it hangs lower..." In PA we have LOTS of speed bumbs and damn pot holes... not to mention I want to get some eibach springs...
The Vishnu looks pretty good, I like the turbo back exhaust they make but I hate how they cut the tip on an angle... Can you get it straight by chance without going to the dual tip that they make?
Thanks,
-Nigel

On a side note I was actually looking into the TurboXS Turbo-Back Exhaust. I also see that you can get an optional TurboXS RFL-TI Muffler (straight through)... on the site it says "if you have to ask how loud, it's too loud for you"
I listened to the sound clip and it sounds alright... not too loud... But I have not actually seen or heard a WRX in person with another exhaust on it to tell if it's too loud... not loud enough...etc

I have the HKS carbon-ti on my WRX with progress springs and it doesn't even hang as low as that picture. I would say I have about 3 inches of clearance between the exhaust and the ground, that's enough for me and I live in the country in northeast Ohio so we have some potholes! If you're looking for bling go with the carbon-ti, if not get the hi power. Hi power does rust though, opposed to the stainless steel. I think the sound is awesome, I have helix up and downpipes so it's louder than just the cat back would be, but still isn't too bad. It has a nice low burbling sound, doesn't sound like a 4 cylinder at all. I love it.

Do you by chance have any pictures of the back of your car so I could see clearance... or even a sound clip :-)
Thanks,

newshockerguy,
if u dont like that sleeper vishnu muffler which resembles the stock wrx muffler, u can also get the sti version. from vishnu which is even better for performance because of less backpressure.

both dual tip and single tip costs the same totally. if u want the signature series though, which is wat im getting itll be an extra $300, pricey, yet very effective. basically my car costed $26,200 out the door for a black 04 WRX with short throw shifter, spoiler, and turbo guage. then i will get the vishnu stage 1 upgrade with signature series which will costs about $2700.
$26,200 + $2700 = $28,900 $28,900 for a high 12-13 second WRX, depending on skills, running off stock turbo. now is that juicy or waT??? heheh its cause of the stage 1 kit. now if u want stage 2, thats a different and exciting story.
"Stage One (300-310HP) w/Signature Series
This power package includes all our Stage Zero parts with the addition of our very own high-performance turbo-back exhaust system.
$2695* " this is wat im getting,
vishnu gives an awesome uppipe, ecu, and pulley kit which is why the car gains so much hp and torque, with the addition of a super exhaust!! =) no cats.. thats the way to go. hehehehehe
