Any Canadians get their STi yet?
hammerwielder... so that blue STi is YOUR car ?
I'm dropping by today to check out the STi... I hear they have a silver one as well on the lot. I'm waiting for my white one...
heard the owner of the silver STi doesn't want his wife to know, so he's exchanging the STi spoiler with a WRX one, and getting the interior redone in WRX trim...
haha... good luck to him!

Hey twg ... indeed it was!
I picked it up at about 3:30 after giving up on the idea that the rain would stop. I drove off into a torrential downpour!! The perfect beginning for an STi don't you think?
Did you get to see it before it left?
Your account of the silver one explains a few things. I was told he wanted not only the spoiler changed but all the references to "STi" removed. And the seats covered in leather. Now it all falls into place, but sheesh. I am now told he is picking it up tomorrow with seats intact, so maybe there has been further negotiation on the home front.
When do you get your white one?

I understand that the silver/silver buyer is in his sixties. He's going super stealthy.
So boys -
Watch out for a silver haired grandfather in a plain silver/silver with no stinkin' badges. You'll be breathing road dust and seeing tiny tail lights before you even pop the clutch!

Hey hammerwielder,
You probably picked up the car not too long after I left the dealership. I was there 'till about 3pm.
I did see the blue, it looked real nice... I was told not to breath on it since it had been PDI'd.
Who was your sales guy ? I'm 2nd on the list for a white one, and they have no white ones for their intial lots, so it'll prob. be in the fall by the time I get mine!
Just curious, did you get any options ? The only ones I'm thinking of are the auto dimming mirror and the arm rest... I saw in a '04 WRX and w/o the armrest, my elbows hang w/o a place to rest it.
btw: Are you going to join TSC ?

Hey twg,
I dealt with Geoffrey seeing as he was the guy who picked up the phone when I called to put a deposit down a long, long time ago.
Too bad about the wait for your colour choice. It'll be worth it though, trust me (and everyone else on this forum).
As far as options, I was told that none were available yet. (!) I will definitely start with the lights, upgrade the bulbs or retrofit HID and get the fogs. The stock Canadian low-beams don't cut it. As far as the interior, this one is a huge improvement over the WRX, apart from the seats. (My wife disagrees; she even likes the new ones better.) You may find yourself shifting so much you won't need the armrest.
As for the mirror, who needs one? Nothing will be gaining on you and you will find that the wing will nicely block out the lights (and the very existence) of most everything you will have passed!!
Generally I won't belong to any club that'll have me as a member, but in this case I will make an exception!!
Hey phun, aren't you getting yours in like two days now? From Downtown? Is the second allotment in already?

Hey,
Ya, I can't justify couple hundred dollars on just a mirror... Can you confirm for me whether the side mirrors are heated ?
I've got the HID retrofits all ready... for both the low beams AND the fogs!
Did you experience any pinging when you picked up your car ? I was told by my sales guy that the closest gas stn only has 91 octane so that's what they put in!!!
phun: what colour do you have a deposit on at downtown subaru ?

picked up my car today.....soooooooooooooooooooooooo Nice....soooooooooooooo fast.......
honestly...its an attention getter....a cop was tailing me home...i thought "oh great", but all he really wanted to do was give me a thumbs up...
the pull is incredible...so much power....you can go from 90-120 in like half a second with only like 1/5th power in 6th....its rediculous...
brakes are amazing...suspension is so very crisp....exactly like i wanted it to be!...so connected to the road...it sticks around corners like crazy....to give you an idea i took a bimmer out and went around a little course that i drive and entered the corner at 65... the bimmer has bilstein suspension, eibach springs, 17's and nice rubber...then i hit it with the STi for the FIRST time at 95...NO problem at all...its crazy!...i have NO compaints about this car at all...wing isnt in the way...hoodscoop is awesomely huge...wing & hoodscoop dont shake like people say...if you actually critique that then your an idiot...haha...
ill update you later....picked up the car at 7pm....16km then....now there is over 350...and its only been like 5 hours....and i havent been "non-stop" driving...mostly city and country...
gotta shoot for this car guys...its SO worth it...get it asap!...

how much was the stoneguard ? I will be getting that for sure!!! Are you getting it through the dealership or aftermarket ?
I currently have 4300K mainbeam HID retros and 5000K fog retros... I like the 4300K cuz it's bright and not blue at all... pure white.
The fogs are good, has a slight tinge of blue/purple, but they are in projectors... But as you go up in colour, you lose lumens.. so not as bright. My 5000k fog retros are not that bright... just a bit over the halogens...
All the balasts are philips, but the bulbs are no-name, so no idea, they are suppose to be philips bulbs but who knows ? I've had the main beams for 3 yrs now, no problems...
