I wish i could say something more about it but, 300 horses with 300 ft lbs of torque. I wish they would have stayed with the 2003 body style for just one more year and made the '03 an STI. They rounded out the car but squared off the unique headlights and they made the tail light wrap around the back. They also squared off the fog light covers . Sad isn't it ? submit any convo you have.
P.S. I am not trying to be mean to any of the '04 STI owners. Congrats you have a great car. It is in my opinion a horrific layout and if you don't agree tell me.

i like the bugeye look better thatn the new 04 look. but when the bugeyes came out i didnt like those either, they grew on me. i think that the 04's might do the same. i think the STI is a stunning car. it looks very well put together and very balanced with the scoop and wing(little overkill, but balanced)
edit: p.s. i hate the fog light covers too

Previous impreza owners thought the 02 wrx was ugly, then it became one of the most popular imports in recent times. Everytime theres a change, people say lots of different things about this and that. I think the 04 lights and hood sccop are big improvements. Itll grow on you just like the "bug-eyed neonish" lights of the previous car. Just my seven cents worth.

observations
yea you are right about the post, it was just put up in the past hour and i guess i just happened to get it just as it came out...i guess to each their own......i mean i'm sure there are some that think the enzo is ugly...(only a moron but maybe someone)...but i'll give you my impressions from someone who has owned both a wrx and sti:
1. I loved my 02......for 23k, its an incredible car....pulled hard...mod friendly......great in snow.....loved that car....
2. the fisheyes.....yea, some don't like, I actually liked them....liked the fog lights....thought the car looked pretty aggressive if one was looking back it it from their mirror in the dark seeing all those lights starring hard at them
3. tail.......the tail was good....not overkill.....but without it looked too stealth for me.....i liked my spoiler on my 02
4. can't remember losing a race in that car once modded
5. that was the 2nd best car I've ever owned
STI:
1. Love the new lights.......the HID's are sweet.....the different glow...the ability to actually adjust them up or down (which some people may not know).......its pretty cool.......i miss the old fogs from the 02 but thus far have not had an issue seeing
2. Have gotten attacked all the time by all kinds of people commenting on my car....stopped...gas stations......on the highway...thumbs up...honks......gazes.....people breaking their necks in all kinds of cars to turn and look at it.....the car is completely stunning....people go nuts when they see it........its actually alittle much, I am not into such "attention".....but this car just draws it natually.........
3. the wing....yea, even my wife kinda hates the wing and I am still getting "used" to it, kinda big.....overkill maybe but the more i look at it the more i like it......
4. brakes/wheels/tires.........one word....sweet
5. power--the car pulls soooo smoothly....the torque is just there, instantly.......no waiting to 3.5K........it just pulls.......
6. 6-speed.......still getting used to it....keep thinking it ends at 5 and then i'll notice the rpm's at 3k and realize i need to slap that beast into 6th.....lol...........car in 6th at 60 is just over 2k....nice :-)
7. handling.......would kill my 02 in this category....not even the same beast at all.....this car begs to be driven hard into the corners.....the same curvy road i used to take every day to work in my 02 i don't even brake at all where I used to have to in my old car.......
8. best car i've ever owned.....sure there are others that will argue against me but this car is incredible if you ask me.....and when i think of 31K.....i could not have made my 02 this awesome for the same amount of investment (tires, brakes, suspension, engine, exhaust, i/c, etc) and be where I am today............and for those out there, I had a stage 3 car.......so my wrx was NOT slow by any means but its kinda nice knowing that if i have an issue I can pull it into the dealer and its now their problem.

hey if jvbimprez25rs ever sees this post again I would just like to say that I wasn't bashing anyone for having a STI. It was a point of conversation. I have my views and you have yours. No need to be calling names now.

i think he was just thinking what everybody is....why would you post something so stupid in the first place...i really dont care to read an opinion of yours on the looks of my car...i just dont understand why you would even waste typing such a msg...it had NO point except to start something...

new 04 looks sick hard kore all the way, its a beauty. people have such bad taste if they say the 04 is ugly, thats my opinion. especially the 04 STi, that thing is a machine of god. the STi owns in looks and performance. by the way im gettin an 04 WRX and so wish i could have an STi.

i like everything about my 04 STi except for the spoiler...it just looks like it was planted down unto the car...i wish Subaru did a better job of giving it a flushed look with the rest of the vehicle. that will be one of the first things i will change on my car...maybe a kaminari spoiler or something similar to that...asides from that everything about the car is freakin awesome and yah i've been getting alot of attention from others.
