Using a GPS to Find Speed Traps?

ok I have a GPS which is cool, but I found this online and wondered if it works like it says it does, basicly you down load poi maps that are updated as needed. when your moving around in your car, it 'alerts you' to 'known' speed traps and traffic cameras.

Sounds cool ( I want it), does anyone on here use something like this? I think there are a couple of sites that do this. this is the one I was looking at.

I'm pretty sure they ARE illegal which means they can put up as many of them as they want but they cannot use them to issue tickets.

Had an app like this on my iPhone when I first got it. All it does is pin point specific "known" areas that either cops have hidden in before, or where people received tickets. It was almost a nusance because I pretty much knew all the local traps...IE: freeway on ramps...dont know about the "illegal" portion of this.....here in CA we see them ALL THE TIME...and I'm PRETTY sure that the cop is issuing a ticket if theyre at the person's driver/passenger window with thier clipboard....usually NOT a good sign...
