mobile speed traps in San Jose?

So I noticed a white van with tinted windows parked alongside a residential road in San Jose (North Valley). It had "City of San Jose" written on the side. As I passed by I saw a flash go off, just like one from a camera. I looked at my speedo and I was going around 30 in a 25...

Did I just get caught? This is the first time I've ever noticed a van like that. I wonder if anyone was inside... I was tempted to turn around and check it out. Oh well, I guess its no different than those red light runner cams, except its meant for catching speeders.

That was definitely a photo radar van. I know to look for them on certain streets as they pop up from time to time. Not sure if you're married, but if you are there is a very easy way to avoid any tickets as a result - register your car in your wife's name and vice versa. That way, when the ticket arrives you can send it back with a photocopy of your drivers license to clearly show that it was not you driving the vehicle. I have already used this to have two tickets cancelled.
