Resonant Engineering

Has anyone ever heard of resonant engineering subwoofers (RE)?
Their XXX series sub is quit close to a JL W7 and actually performs better in some areas. I was just wondering who has heard of this company. Resonant Engineering

I've never heard of them but there subs look beefy. The structure of the sub and basket seem to be very solid. Looks like you could drop them of a 10 story building and they would get damaged!

Hello, as a JL Audio dealer I might be a bit biased but here is my $.02.
It is relatively easy to engineer a woofer with similar specs to a JL W7. The problem is that they don't take into account the hundreds of thousands of hours of engineering the Manville and Lucio spent designing it (They are basically JL Audio). The W7 woofer is much like a Ferrari Enzo in that there are cars that may go faster or stop better one time or corner with more lateral G force or what ever but in the end there hasn't been a car the can do everything as well as the Enzo and still pass an emissions test and have working AC and so on. This isn't to say that the XXX sub isn't a good woofer or to say that the W7 will be the right woofer for you, but please don't compare an AMC Pacer with a huge motor and big fat sticky tires and a big rice wing to an Enzo or a McLaren F1 or any other super car you wish.
I just got back from CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Vegas and pretty much every vender I met with all had some great woofer to offer and all said the same thing "It will beat a W7" Not one company ever said it is the best sounding woofer out there. Or that we should buy it for any other reasons then that it had a couple of specs that are better then a W7 and was cheaper.
So don't be sucked in by specs alone after all a 700 Hp pinto is still a pinto. Good Luck
