Reccomended upgrade for factory front speakers in Outback Sport or WRX?

I'm looking to replace the front speakers in my 2004 Outback Sport. Any good ideas? Seems not much will just fit, and probably modifications are needed. Do I need a pro installer, or can someone suggest how to proceed? Many thanks. BTW I have an old Alpine 3522 amp that works great.

You can make spacers so that you are able to but bigger speakers up front, If you do a search I'm sure you can find some more info.
