I am looking for a power wire to hook up my valentine radar detector to.I am not sure what wire to splice into under the stearing colum?Any help!I hate electrical!

 

If this is for a WRX and you're mounting it up by the mirror (the best location), you can use the switched 12V in the harness for the auto-dimming mirror. The harness is there even if you don't have the mirror installed.

 

yeah.....i also mounted my radar detector right above my auto dimming mirror. i modified a male spade connector and wedged it into the power terminal on the mirror. That way I can remove it and its like it was never there....it has been working great for about 7 months. just use a volt meter to figure out which wire has 12v power....i think there are only like 2-3 wires so its not difficult.
