New to Subys, New to car audio

Hey people. I just got a 05 WRX and I really like the in Dash CD changer, but I want XM radio as well. I've got a pioneer head unit from my old car that's XM ready, so my big question is if i opt for the older head unit in place of my stock one, will I lose the In dash changer? If not, any way I can retain the Cd changer function and atill aquire XM?? Thanks!!

Yes, you will lose the cd changer as the stock deck is one big unit. The only way is to purchase an aftermarket cd changer that can connect to your Pioneer.

best bet for you then is the external XM tuner.

you can then use an FM modulator (yeah i know... i know...) to pipe the sounds in...

you can not use the indash 6disc. if you want to keep the factory unit and add xm,you would have to use an fm modulated unit ( a unit that broadcasts xmsn through fm freq). if you want digital sound, you would have to dump your fact hd install your pioneer hd and add a 6disc and an xm tuner. hope that helped!

for me it's neither.

last month. i drove 10 hours to vegas. i had both xm and sirius. about halfway there, i actually got bored with both and started listening to CDs.

granted, all i listen to are the dance channels on both...

okay... ch 205 on XM also...

I ran into the same problem. I got bored with Satellite after using it for a few days. It's almost as bad as regular radio. They play the same songs at almost the same time everyday. It's kinda frustrating that I'm paying monthly just to hear the same songs over and over again.
