Installing Pioneer Deck
I just bought a pioneer p4600 cd deck and I have few questions about installing. I bought the deck used so it did not come with any instructions, but from what I found on i-club, ravensblade and pioneer; I have concluded that this is how the deck should hook up.
Please correct me if I am wrong...I don't want to blow anything up. Thanks
One more thing...where it says:
Blue/White-To system control terminal of the power amp.....
What is that? I have that wire but I have no clue on what it does.

+1 for buying a harness. I put my kenwood DPX-5010 in in under 30 minutes includuing soldering the harness to the deck wires. Followed the how to instructions on scoobymods as far as ripping the dash apart, unplugged the old deck and slapped in the new one.
that blue/white is the AMP turn-on wire.
usually, amps have a seperate terminal. when a +12v is applied to it, it turns on the amp. lost the +12v, the amp turns off.
so the head unit is the one sending the +12v to the amp, not the other way around.
also useful for turning on a power antenna.

costs about $12-15 and you can find em at any stereo shop. that blue/white wire is also called a remote wire. it attaches on the amp next to the power and ground. you can also put a switch in between the deck and the amp to cut off the sub in a hurry. helpfull if you need to kill the sounds quick due to police or other reasons.
