I'm gonna be installing a new single CD Kenwood deck into my '02 WRX. (Along with an amp and a sub).
My question is, do I need a dash kit to fit the new head unit as the factory head with the 6 disc changer is huge, and I'm swapping to a regular size deck. Some of the stereo install shops say that I do not need one. Wouldn't this leave a massive hole in my dash as the new deck is half the size of the factory unit? Infact I was told that a kit for my car isn't available. Is this true?

 

you need a din pocket, I got one from a dealer. It's a forester din pocket and matches well in color with the trim

 

if you go to your local car stereo shop they should have a universal pocket that will work
