Picking up my new head unit tomorrow... an Eclipse CD5423. Love this thing... dials instead of buttons for quick adjustments and no annoying beeps. Built in electronic crossovers for all channels so my stock Subaru speakers wont sound like crap and wont blow up either. I'll get the speakers in a couple of weeks... just haven't decieded what to get yet. And the warrenty... Eclipse will cover you for theft of your headunit.. they're that secure in their anti-theft system. Check it out...

it was out of stock... they said it could take up to a week and a half. Oh well.... I wait then.

Had a question... I was going to pick up one of them Legacy flip door pockets to fill my stereo hole (I have a WRX). Are there any mounting issues relating to where its door opens and clearance for the dash cupholder? I know it doesn't screw in properly on the top DIN half, but still fits.... just don't want the cupholder in the way of the moving face and CD loading, so I want the head unit on the bottom. What about mounting the flip door pocket upside down? - is this possible?

 

Still haven't gotten the idea of remotes in a compact car... I can reach, really. Whatever floats your boat. The voice commander upgrade? Maybe... not really interested in MP3 CDs... my MP3 player only holds 20,000 minutes of music right now, so when its full I'll think about it.

Anyway... head unit should be in this week.
