how to install a head unit in a wrx?

The trim around the radio is just snapped in. Pull the cupholder out and get a good grip on the trim and pull it out. Its a little tricky, but if you work at it, it will come off. There are 2 snaps on the top and 1 below the climate controls. The climate controls are attached to that also. After you get that off, you just need a phillips screwdriver to remove the ISO brackets that hold the radio in. Then, you just simply unbolt the ISO brackets from the radio and bolt the aftermarket unit to the same ISO brackets.

here is a tip: if you don't want to potentially scratch up the silver trim piece when reinstalling the cup holder, you could install the cupholder back anytime after the trim is removed.
