Head unit install questions
Hello everyone. As you can see this is my first post. I just join the Subaru ranks with the purchase of my STI. Anyways I was wondering, I am getting ready to install my stereo and I have been looking online for dash install kits and have had no success in locating one, so I am wondering if it needs one. And also, how do you get the plate where the radio goes off?

go to Circuit City and get a Metra harness for your car. just tell them your year and make. They have a harness that goes from Subaru harness -> universal
u can get another metra harness that goes universal -> headunit. these vary depending on what brand HU you have. I didnt use the 2nd harness. I cut off the universal connector off the 1st Metra harness i mentioned and crimped them to the H/U wires.
