Dell Jukebox -> Head Unit connection questions
Dell Jukebox -> Head Unit connection questions
I did a search and i found some setup to connect an Ipod to some head units through the cd changer port and what not, that was cool and all, but i have a dell jukebox... Now i was wondering if there is anything out there to connect the dell jukebox to a headunit ( or specific kind, whichever) through wiring of some sort..
Right now i have the belkin tunecast, and it is the worst POS ever!!! It eats 2 AAA batteries a day, quality is very ****ty, and music volume is cut in half on the headunit ( I always set the dell jukebox to 23/25, any higher and it becomes distorted). Turning the head unit up to the max of 40 using the tunecast is equal to listening to a cd at around 19 to 23. And yes i searched for the emptiest frequencies possible.
So im just lookin around to see if there was any other way to connect my mp3 player to a headunit, cause im deffinately not going back to CD/mp3 cd's , theyre just not efficient. But this gay *** belkin tunecast is a pile of crap, and i want good sound quality again.
Props to the Ipod I-Trip thing tho cause it connects and integrates onto the ipod (doesnt flop around everywhere), and doesnt eat up batteries like a ****.
Thanks for any info you guys might have :-D
Ps. I have a stock 05 wrx with stock stereo 6cd changer

I installed it on my car and couldent be happier with it!
here is a pic of it installed... not the cleanest but very functional and just think you can plug your laptop into it and have a playlist for long road trips of if a passinger wants to watch a movie.

Ok, i've had an ipod since it's first generation so i have a lil experience with this. Going through an FM modulator is ok but you lose lots of sound quality this way. (like when you listen to your cds and when you switch to radio you have to turn it up a bit) Same goes with those tape adapters.
What i've done is purchased a deck with an aux input (front is ok but mine is in the back) Hopefully you dell jukebox has an audio output which is fixed. Cuz if you go through the headphone port you always have to match up the volume on the player each time. All i have to do now is figur out whether i want to make a mount for my ipod in the car or just run the wires into the back of the glove box and make it like the bmw's.
After that i just make a couple of playlists specifically for my car at home.
