Focal Speakers
Does anyone know first hand if Focal polykevlar 6.5's will fit in the front doors of a WRX? If not, will the 5.25's fit? Just wondering if I am going to have to build custom panels to make these speakers fit. Thanks for your help.

i have 6.5 polygass focals in the front, i got my spacers from iaperformance
make sure you check to see if your car has tweeter brackets or not, and if you are replacing your rear door speakers get spacers for those too
and dont get focal 5.25's for the rear doors, the tweeters stick out too far and the door panel doesnt really fit on correctly

Chadwich,
I have an 04 STi. I am a Focal dealer. I tried to stash these in my doors with mods to the panel and a MDF spacer. No way. The surrround of the mid slapped the lower part of the panel. The clearance on the back was a problem too. I tried to space the window track back a 1/4". That didn't help. I switch to the Polyglass V2 slims. Those fit perfect with not weird problems. Albeit, the bass response wasn't as good but it still worked out better in the long run. I put the Access 165ca in the rear doors. Trimmed out the sheet metal and they work fine. The panels rattled so I took them off and got some weather stripping and lined the panel and hung it back on. Rattles gone. More questions? Call Cartunes 707-546-8585 ask for Paul...good luck.

Chadwick,
The 165v2 are 2.88 inch deep bigger than the K2's by 1 cm.
The 165 v slims are only 2.4" deep plus a spacer this should fit.
If you still want to go with K2 series you can go with the 130 KP 5 1/2" set, this one only have 2.44" mounting depth.
Good luck
hayscoob,
