Dectors/Jammers, which one?
Hey guys,
I just wanted your opinions on getting a jammer/detector. I was looking into the RMR C-430. There hasn't been any reviews other than the RMR testers. Should I get this one and try it, or go with a more well known dector? Do I get j ust a dector or a jammer also? I really can't afford to get anymore tickets, Especialy if I have the STi. And for those of you who are going to say, "just do the speed limit," tell me if you have the STi ar you really ONLY going to do the limit? I mean come on guys!! Any input would be great. Thanks to all before responses!

Passive jammers are worthless and true active jammers are highly illegal. Anything made by Rocky Mountain Radar is garbage.
Go for a decent detector, V1 is best, Passport ok, learn how to use it and drive sensibly. No detector will make you immune to getting tickets, it's a combination of technology and common sense.

IMHO the "high end" dectectors work well but you must practice reading them and recognize the limits that the environment in which they are used (i.e. hill and dale or wide open flatland) places on the ability to pick up a signal (or pick up too many signals). Remember, they will only pick up "instant - on" signals if the officer believes that someone ahead of you is speeding and targets them before targeting you. Most traffic officers are well aware of the areas in their patrol where the range of a detector is limited, where they can "instant on" and not give warning to following motorists, or where a radar detector can not sort a speed gun from background false positives.
Any jammer that works is likely to get you pulled over for a "lets see what I can find" stop. You will likely get a ticket for any infraction. I'd suggest that telling the officer or a judge "You couldn't have clocked me for speeding, I had my radar jammer on!" is not the very best way to avoid points.

Just my two cents but I would say go with V1, all the advertisements that say "WE'LL PAY FOR YOUR TICKET" means nothing since you pay fro insurance. V1 is the best detector by numerous tests.
