Blackjax - any input?

I've been looking up car alarms for the past while because I'm in the area of buying a WRX, however, as of late 2004, the WRX was the top stolen car in Canada.

Sadly they don't have the electronic immobilizer yet, which is just disturbing, so I've looked into some alarms that have it. Mainly, the Clifford alarms.

The Blackjax feature seems pretty need and may work...to an extent.

Those who have it, is it a PITA to have to punch in your key every time you need to start the car? I would think so. Does it have a valet mode you can put it in? What happens if you forgot your PIN??!?!?!?! Seems like you would be pretty much screwed...

you can put in aftermarket immobilzers.

some require some sort of dongle. some are transceiver types.

the downside is that aftermarkets cant interface directly into the ECU like stock. they all wire into the starter system, which, like on a manual tranny, can be bump/pushed started.

this is the only OEM alarm/protection i would get.

I have the IG850. Blackjax takes an extra few seconds after ignition. You can disable blackjax for valet mode. You're going to need the PIN for alarm adjustments as well as blackjax. There is a way to reprogram the PIN. The IG850 has at least fuel pump cutoff so even if the engine turns it won't matter.
