contemplating transferring to USF...any input?
It's about that time where I start to look at where I want to transfer...and, as of now, I have narrowed it down to USF (University Of San Francisco). My parents are both graduates, but their experience might be different from someone who had recently graduated. I've been looking at all the programs and have talked to councelours about transferring...so as far as academics is concerened, I'd like to think I'm pretty covered.
my question is; does anyone have any experience at this school? in terms of atmosphere; what is it like? i'd just like some input from recent alumni or even current students.

One of my classmates did her undergrad degree there and my gf is currently in a masters nursing program at USF. Neither of them have any good things to say about the school. The teaching philosophy is really old school. The professors are not innovative, the administration is unreceptive to student input, and since the majority of the student body are kids who went to private school their whole life lacking any real sense of independence, faculty treat you accordingly. It's a really expensive school and a lot of money to pay if you're not going to get something spectacular out of it. It's a below average school with an above average price in a good location.

In terms of academics, it all depends on what program you're thinking of enrolling in at USF. Some programs are stronger than others, just like at any other school. Things vary from department to department. If you wouldn't mind telling me a little bit of what you had in mind and what you are used to or like/dislike, I could probably give you a better idea of what USF can be like.
From a social standpoint, USF is a great way to open your eyes to the world since more than half the student population is international - hence the moniker "University of Spoiled Foreigners" haha. Making friends with people from overseas is one of my fondest memories from USF, and is an experience that I have come to value especially now that I have already graduated.
Of course, there's a lot more to say than this, so please feel free to ask me any questions you might have and I'll try my best to answer them.

The gym's all right, not the best but not the worst. The pool's nice, Olympic-sized 50 meters by 25 yards!
Nice basketball courts too!
