alarm for my sti?
Alright I need a good alarm for me and the wife's car. I'm looking for 1 with the lcd pager with decent range and shock sensor and that good stuff. I've been looking at the Clifford matrix 12.5 and it seems to have the features I want. I don't even know what brands are good. Is the Clifford decent? Any other ones you guys have experience with or would recommend? Thanks!

Don't go to the place in Aiea next to Home World. (I rather not say the company's name) They installed my alarm in my Suby. When I got home, I checked out where they mounted it since they didn't tell me where the valet button was. Talk about half (_)_). They didn't even mount the brain to anything. They just tie strapped it to my steering column. So, I took it out and relocated it so that it couldn't be seen if you looked under the dash.
Another thing that you might want to add to your alarm system is a "pain generator" siren. This one would be installed inside the vehicle. It's a very high pitched siren. I had one in my Box Civic and DAMN that thing was loud.

Thanks guys. I saw an ad in the paper for the matrix 12.5 installed for $339 at elite car stereo (ever heard of it?) and the guy said they give discounts on multiple car installs and military discounts. Maybe I will give that shop in kailua a call and see what kinda prices they got. Ill probly be getting it done within the next 2 weeks or so.

after removing many dashes....
i just despise alarms and aftermarket stereos...
maybe if installers actually put disconnecting connectors at different locations along with stereo wires....btw...if you do need to pull the dash @ a dealership and your car has an aftermarket alarm or radio...they may charge you more labor time due to the fact that they might have to cut / butt connect/solder the wires back together.
if you want a starter kill...just make your own switch....simple as that...keep it simple...

what i meant by a starter kill is a simple switch either to the fuel pump or even igntion circuit.
not one of those buy from a stereo shop deal...a radio shack switch with an inline fuse will do just fine.
keys already are chipped (later models)...if someone really wants it....their gonna find any means to take it...usually by tow truck.

i just recently installed python a990 on my 05 sti. i dont know what the equivelent will be for clifford/viper.
main features:
remote start
keyless entry
1 mile paging remote
turbo timer
plus its ready for extra features like window mod, trunk release, back up battery, extra pins, etc, etc.
and btw, on sti's there is a neutral position sensor on the ecm, hooked this up with my remote start so it wont start in gear.
only thing i iam looking into is getting a old school clifford siren instead of the 7 tone style ones...love the funny chirp on those old cliffords.
