Aftermarket CD player install - '04 wrx

Hey guys, I'm new here and had a question about installing an aftermarjet cd player in my wrx. I'm new to the wrx after having a 240sx for 3 years. Could anyone tell me if it is hard to install the cd player,... i have browsed a few diff threads but they didnt really hit on what i wanted to know.. Does subaru make an insert for under the cd player after you take out the hulking stock player?

Sorry if this thread has been beaten to a pulp... if so just direct me where to look, thanks again.

So you will need first of all a wiring harness adapter for the subaru plugs.
After that, then yes, you need a single din slot to fill the empty space.

I think there's a legacy one with a flip-down cover that you can get.
Or alternatively you can get a standard black one from crutchfield.

You may want to try looking up "din" on several of the message boards and also try
www.scoobymods.com

good luck

spend the 13 bucks for an adapter, if you can afford a headunit and a wrx then you can shell out 13. it is well worth it, especialy when you swap it out or something

and I just used a din sized tray and it works fine, but if you dont have it I also used a piece of plastic and painted the back side black, after I cut it shape to fill in the din sized opening,
