has anyone gone with 3-ways of any manufacturer? I imagine it will require custom kick panels like the ones from iaperformance.com. does anyone have these or know someone who has them?

They look OK, but the effectiveness of any kick panel is dependant on how it is BUILD to match the properties of the speaker going into them. I have seen alot of people try and do kick panels but without spending along time adjusting there placement and orientation, you often can't make them worht the time.
