so youre telling me that american and russian engineers were "originators" and never copied anything?

if anything, china let america and russia fight/spy on each other and waited for the right moment to grab the technology. its like watching to chicks fight, free cat fight without having to ask

There were never any real attempts to get into manned space flight before the russians and the americans. The only marked real attempt at getting a vehicle into space was the V-1, i believe. Everything was pretty original.

Although waiting for a design to evolve and mature and waiting for the right time to grab it is one strategy, i don't think it really lets somebody really understand the motivation or a reason for a design. I've seen many an engineer start something mid-process and have no clue how to fix it when something goes wrong with it. Either that or they make the wrong assumption and mis-diagnose a problem..

Foam 'tiles'. In any case, its ironic how they can send people to outer space but can not manage to firmly secure foam to the tanks!

I don't think zip ties is 'firmly securing' foam tiles...
