well see heres the thing about that...... Challenges, for the most part, give you the most XP, I mean if you finish Marksman III, thats automatically 1000xp, which is SUPER Hard, for the exception of ed, to hit, let alone exceed in game. So you take the challenge xp you make for completing it + what you make just by objectives in game yadda yadda yadda, you have the potential of leveling up way faster than if you just ignore the challenges. Plus, sometimes you just complete challenges outta no where.. I mean for instances, if you fall into one of the missle silos (granted you only do that once) BAM! you die, but WoOT! 250 xp

stuff like that.... So all in all, just do em as you go
it does help with leveling.

but seriously, a full team of last stand players FTL, shooting from halfway across the map its hard to see them go into last stand, then gets irritating not knowing if they are dead or just prone, or if they managed to flank...

we should have a "silencers on/uav jammer/last stand" night lol.

does anyone know if silencers+dead silence cancel out uav jammer or vise versa? if so then silencers/dead silence/stopping power would be pretty lethal

 

I think stopping power is pretty crucial... which is why I don't ever take it off, tho I do want to use the jammer, but can't seem to break away from taking off stopping power..

Ok this got me thinking the other actually, remember when we did the 3 on 3 team tactical a week ago, and everyone on their team could hear us, and vise versa...

To ichi's point about calling out locations... Should we come up with our own labels for places, just incase server communication becomes crossed and as always we might not know it, i mean seriously, if you can clearly hear what the other team is saying in game, would you tell them? Or if they have easedrop on... Kinda like on showdown, how JC came up with the "It's by the brat!"

I don't think many people would know what the brat is..

UAV jammer and silencers make you completely invisible... u will never show up on radar no matter what
i can see the uses for dead silence but right now i'm playing on this crappy tv with mono sound so ehh doesn't do any good for me hehe
and yea,getting to marksman 3 is a chore.... the only guns i think i got to marks 3 this time around is the mp5,m16 ak47 and ak74u. all high damage with stopping power and if i'm lucky i can get 3 kills in before a reload. but if you get a shipment map that's where you can level up your other guns

 

+1 to that.. I find it super hard to get marksman 3 on the snipers and shotgun. And does stopping power really help? Ive always wanted to use it but I can never remove uav jammer..Im paranoid because once I take off the uav jammer my ratio goes from like 40-20 to 5-20 hahahah.. well maybe not that dramatic but yeah.

What kind of perk combos do you guys use and for what gun?

Well my cd died. If would not read or load anything. The system worked but no drive. THat is why my system froze up the other night.

I always had concerns about the heat that the console put out and I posted my findings. I stated that the system would run cooler if placed horizonally Ed found something that said basically the same thing. I have been running it horizonally since I bought it. So much for that.

The system does run cooler over all but one big problem. Heat soak into the cd drive. The image shows the high temp out of the fan but we cannot the core temp of the cd drive it self. If it is white out of the fan then it has to be white on the bottom surface of the cd rom.


The reason I like the horz position because it allowed air to flow from the two vents on the bottom. When it is vertical air is not allowed to flow through the bottom vents.

In order to avoid the heat soak on the cd you have to run it vertically but that block the air flow from the bottom. Answer elevate the console.

How?

For 2.99 you can do it and it will still look clean. I got a pack of 3/4 in rubber pads from Home Depot. It elevates the vents enough to allow air to flow. I also placed a plexi glass sheet to elevate it a inch total.

Being that heat rises, the hot air is drawn past the cd and the cold air comming in from the bottom vent can replace it. lowering the core temp.

 

so who is making a FMIC kit for the PS3? we should use NOS to keep it cool during heavy rapid fire

Ohhhh, I see now. The top exhaust vents disipates heat from the nividia, and the rear is from the cpu.

Looking at the system vertically:
The intake vents are at the right front and right bottom. The heat exhaust vents are at the top and rear.

Notice the fan blade blows sideways into the fins.

Here is the problem. When placing the console vertically 50% of the cooling air flow is lossed because the pads are about 1.0mm high. It does not allow enough cold air flow to the fan. This makes the fan not only work harder but contributes to the increase in the consoles ambient temperature and supporting a potential thermal runaway.

Placing the console horizonally allows for the correct air flow but creates heat soak into the cd drive (theory Either the signal components fail or the motor does from the heat soak).

I think the pad mod will provide the clearance that the base vents need to flow enough air to the fan.

I mis-labeled the pictures first few pics, they are of the bottom side of the PS3. the side pic is also upside down.
i leave my ps3 horizontal out in the open sitting elevated on a box. I used to have it sitting inside my TV stand rack, but i noticed the fans would always go into "high" after a few minutes. now out in the open i rarely hear the fan go into "high", though i am concerned about the heat soak problem of the drive. there is always this option:

and ot, rambo was awesome. the story sucked, the girl is worthless, but based solely on the action scenes, yes plz. proper use of a sniper blowing off body parts with the barrett 50 cal. o and teh asian guy representin the mercenaries... all i can say is it will make you want to play more COD4 . nerds!!!!!!!!
