What exactly IS it?

Is it a bunch of folks doing donuts, or is it more like a rally-x, with cones and such?

Where is Mirage Lakebed? (would it be worth the drive from Santa Cruz?)

What other "rules" are there, aside from not doing burnouts and not drinking?

Looks interesting...

Well, at least I managed to answer that question for myself...

El Mirage Dry Lakebed is about 15 miles Northwest of Victorville... about 5 hours drive from here. If you SoCal folk take the 15 over the San Bernadino Mtns, its about thirty miles beyond the summit.

Now the other question: Whats up with this "event"?

Is it an all day/multi-day thing?

Is it worth 10 hours of commuting?

'Sup?

I miiiiiiight be in. I go to school with Chris (he posts on importxdream) and he showed me some videos from the last one. It's too far ahead for me to know for sure, but I'm definitely interested.

Lately, all the real record-attempts have been out at Bonniville, or Black Rrock Mesa.

La Mirage isn't as large.

So is it speed runs?
Rolling-start drag races?

I'm just trying to figgure out what is involved once people are out on the lakebed.

yes it's legal as long as the lake bed is actually dry. If it is raining and you get caught playing in the mud out in the lake bed, then it's a minimum 50 dollar fine like my friend and I got.

I wonder if these storms will keep coming.

It may not be dry enough by Feb 19th.
I hope it is... although I still don't know if I'd make it. Thats a long way from here.
