xvid via tversity to ps3 works or not? any way to make it work? i installed cccp last night along with standalone xvid, no more k-lite full. i know ps3 doesnt have native support, it comes up as corrupted data on the ps3. tversity tries to transcode but it aborts as soon as it starts.
do i have to re encode all my xvid movies??
also any way to have movies read subs or am i dreaming here?

When using a USB adaptor to play video files, you may need to use a USB adaptor (not included) that supports copyright-protection features (to play copyright-protected files).
When using a USB adaptor to play AVCHD-format video files saved on Memory Stick™ media, use a device that supports Hi-Speed USB (USB 2.0).

do yrself a favor and delete klite, switch to cccp http://www.cccp-project.net/
uninstall any other codec packs u might have, use the cccp insurgent tool to check your computer
so i guess i have the same problem as you, newer xvid doesnt not transcode properly

hmm interesting cuz i can play all formats only problem is with MKV and with their subtitling which i haven't found a way around it.this is how i installed things
1)uninstalled everything, tversity, codecs.. even VLC
2)reboot
3)install the newest FFDshow, make sure all the file types are selected
4)install the newest Haali Media Splitter
5)reboot
6)install TVersity, do not use their FFDshow
7)reboot
8)modify the transcoding resolution, use eithre 1080x607 or 912x513 depending on your system (this is important: this is why ed you can't run 720p HD video on ur PS3 without killing your router)
9)use Media Player Classic to test out all the videos
10)use ur ps3 to play videos
thats what i did and i got them from the tversity support forums.

i guess i need to read more tversity support. ffdshow and haali alone wasn't working for some of my vids on the comp, so i went for the cccp codec pack.
and actually i was on the original res of 400x300 for transcoding. i think it was the crappy k-lite codec pack with issues. so got that uninstalled and everything went back to normal. now it wont transcode xvid at all

i don't understand why you guys are using those codecs, CCCP and Klite codec.
This isn't the first time i used FFDshow and Haali combo i never had any issues since day 1. btw set to ALWAYS transcode, not transcode when needed.
you can try reading this walkthrough
http://forums.tversity.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=11288
btw maybe cuz the fact that your using vista and i'm using xp?
