"Iraq was a scam" No WDM, just tell us we need to control the oil.
"We got shafted" Tilman gave up $million contract, died for what? .
"enjoy the freedom fallen soldiers have provided" Guys died on D-Day to stop Hitler which was a real threat to our country.

Died for what????? Are you kidding me???. If you can't see the difference between Afghanistan and Iraq than you have no business commenting on war and politics in general. Tillman died searching for the people who attacked our country this date 6 years ago. How dense can you be? That's pathetic.

Tilman was killed by friendly fire. (mind you they tried to cover that up).

I've grown more anti-Iraq since 2004 and want our men and women out of there as much as the next guy. But when people throw-in "meh, it's just for oil" I cringe. If it wasn’t just for oil the USA would collapse. If there was ever a reason to fight this war it would be for oil and not WMD. If the admin came forward in 2003 and said they were going in for oil we could at least say oil is in Iraq and that we need it. Lots of it.
Kind of a bad argument for immorality. We need oil, we should take it no matter what. Kind of opens the door for any behaviors at all. The oil belonged to someone else, and he wouldn't give it to me, so I killed him because I needed it. While doing so, I made some money as well.

What kind of country have we become?

So have we. Ever hear of Hiroshima? So Cuba should kill our president and invade us, because we have done terrible things as a nation? That's the SAME argument Bin Ladin is making against the west-is bin ladin's argument also then valid?

China's got alot of oil also and probably more to be uncovered.
It's just a matter of searching for the oil reserves.
Heyyyyyyyy.....china has been ruled by a brutal dictatorship for over four decades....and they have oil..... we should invade their country, kill their president (trial first, of course), and make some nonsensical freedom words for the whole deal. Chinese Food? Hell no-Freedom Food!

naah, we need gay *** propaganda to get us going first. "saddam hussein might nuke disneyland, and we've got to stop him. "

or fake some dead iraqi frogmen on the coast of florida with spears tipped with sarin gas. They're trying to INVADE, and they want to convert us all to islam? oh hell no!

You're struggling to make a point here. You went from "Iraq was a scam, we got shafted" to "enjoy the freedom fallen soldiers have provided".
that's easy-the war on drugs! iraq is a bigger battle but part of the war on terror. BUT you couldn't detain people w/o charges in the war on drugs, you could just lock them up for life in federal and state owned, corporate run prisons. now we can call them "freedom houses" for the GWOT detainees!

War on drugs???? I hope you're joking. And you do realize that prior to 9/11 7th SFG (as well as the 20th SFG) were dedicated to actual "combat" missions in South America were detainment rules are nothing like in the US with normal civilians.

Iraq has sophisticated IEDs, a fundamentalism to morally (and mentally) support its fighters, a dynamic insurgency, access to high end weapons, and a massive indigenous population to blend in with. Sure, just like the war on drugs. Let's just re-write DARE in arabic and we'll be all set.

Probably because America promises them protection as long as they provide oil. Reference the Gulf War, where'd the attacks on Kuwait/Iraq come from? SAUDI ARABIA. We don't need Iraq for oil, we'd have been better off going to Nigeria (a stones throw from Darfur) because in 2002, they imported 8 billion gallons more oil to the US than Iraq. (Nigeria imported 19.3B/Iraq 11.3B). Saudi Arabia gives up more the 6 times that amount a year.

It's so funny how people forget Saddam was the very first to use a chemical weapon against a civilian population (Kurds in the north during the Al Anfal campaign). There is documented proof he had tons of Sarin under the guise he was making agricultural pesticides. Why is it so hard to believe he had this stuff in 2003?
I'm with you. The oil argument has always been an asinine one. Let's see... should we continue to buy from Saddam for next to nothing for a small percentage of our gross oil import. Or do we go into Iraq, create disorder and stir the social pot to a potential civil war, then implement our own system for getting the oil out of Iraq at probably a higher cost because of overhead, etc. The list of uncertain variables goes on and on.
