I use a set of craftsman jack stands, they work perfectly thus far.

 

doesnt matter you want the widest base

check out local sears stores, should be relatively cheap for craftsman jacks.

have you looked at the arcan jack from costco? it's $65, i think.

 

i mean they are welded steel i am sure that tehy are not going to fail no matter what kind you get.

you want wide because if you start pulling on the car you dont want it to rock and fall off the stands and kill you

i have no clue id say a foot and wider is really wide and will do the trick but under that is fine too
