It's always sad when someone goes unnecessarily
It's even more disheartening to see some little ***** on an internet forum talk **** about said person.

What a horrible story, I'm sure the guy was just in a bit of a hurry working on his car, and forgot about jackstands.A couple years ago my friend was working on his 1970's Plymouth Satellite (POS), and the car was being supported by the jack, but there were jackstands under the car, but the car wasn't sitting on them. Well his jack suddenly failed and the car fell towards my friend, but was stopped by the jackstands. He's a bit of a retard so he simply laughs about it

old or not it is a good lesson to be reminded of from time to time. We all like to work on our cars or other peoples cars. It's a common thing to be up under your car.
I have to admit that I have been in a rush to get something done and popped up my car with now stands...and crawled around. It sounds to me like these guys were at a garage away from their house and forgot jackstands. I mean they obviously thought about it if he was looking around for stands. Dude probably thought he'd be under there a few minutes and be done with it.
I mean how many of us travel with jack stands?
Everyone realizes it's not a wise move to crawl up under your car but that's no reason to bag on a kid that just lost his life. I am amazed (though I shouldn't be) at how ****ed up people can be on the internet. I mean that is complete bull crap. People loose their life...regardless of the situation you need to show your concern. You want to talk about safety of the situation start another thread. You never know when family member or friend is gonna come across that thread and read people making fun of their lost loved one. Pisses me off all the damn time. Think back to the BMW fire loss. People pulled the same **** on that. Every time.
It's like they fail to realize that just because they are alive it doesn't mean they've never done anything stupid.
I had a jack fail and the damn thing fell on my leg......I was in the middle of putting jack stands in.....
