Question Boost only gauge?

I was wondering, is it bad that I got a boost only gauge from Autometer.

I have noticed that most people get the boost/vacuum gauge vs the boost only gauge. Looking at the installation instruction the boost/vacuum gauge actually comes with the spliter (T) for the gauge install, whereas the boost only does not.

will I end up damaging the gauge? should I get the boost/vaccum one instead?

any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

What's the part number?

I highly doubt you'll hurt anything.

Vacuum is what you see when you close the throttle. Boost is what you see when you open it.

Yes. Most of the time, the vacuum/boost gauge will indicate manifold vacuum. This includes idle, most cruise conditions, and deceleration. The turbo only produces boost with a significant throttle application under load (can't produce boost while car is stationary) and above a certain engine RPM, therefore the gauge will be boring to look at a great deal of the time.

It can't? I can make my boost meter go over 1 bar even at idle. Heh, my friends Supra can blow his BOV quite loudly while in neutral.

At idle? Are you using your finger to move the pointer?

He should stay away from re-fried beans.

ok other than look boring, will it hurt anything. I guess if it breaks I can just buy another one, this time the right one.

I just don't feel like returning it. I'm lazy. Hey any one know if its hard to return stuff to Summit Racing.com

OK make up our mind... "idle" or "stationary". I responded to "stationary". If I sit in my car, stationary in neutral I can stomp on the gas pedal and generate over 14.5 PSI on my boost meter (on both my boost meters ). I've seen it with my own peepers.
