I dont think anyone has mentioned this yet, and I feel it bears mentioning.
Israeli propaganda does not belong on this board. I don't recall ever seeing a post entitled "If you're Palestinian, or at all Arabic, Please Read This!"
I can respect that you feel strongly enough about something to get the word out any way you can, and I'm not saying there shouldn't be discussion about these issues on the board (don't like it? don't read the thread...) but I used to get these pro-Israeli e mails about once a week from a close friend of mine, and I don't think a weekly update on the evils of the Palestinian people belongs here.
My 2 rubals.

i'm one of the many few christian republicans around here,
as i notice, though i don't really claim right wing, and i don't like George W. too much, i still associate myself with my beliefs and mannerisms. i just gotta say William Willimon is one of the cool guys. good qoute jason.
and don't open the can of worms about the native americans...
i can register as a cherokee and/or blackfoot, but i refuse to, even with the financial incentive that i could receive, especially with college. the native american situation is more complex than the isreal one due to the fact that its within american land itself, compared to the other side of the world.
and as a rule of thumb, any mental(let alone intellectual) stimulation is welcomed in i-club

I hope for his sake the Office of Homeland Security isnt reading this post. We might see something about a plot of Indian terrorists on Fox News. Maybe this is why we went to a "High" alert status the other day.

i work with memebers of the fbi, local law enforcement, DHS, and other such groups on a weekly basis. Sharing information and what not, and within a year or so i MIGHT be taking the path of a LEO for cybercrime. MIGHT being the key word.

I would fight for what is just if that turns me against those of us who are unjust and have no honor then so be it.

Many of you, on both sides of this argument (and the many other issues y'all are citing) need to 'vote with your feet'. Words are hollow.
There's something unique to this land in that you can hide behind your right to speak your mind freely and delude yourselves that you are better than the lowest ranking soldier. In the end, we're all soldiers who have just not been put into immediate threat situations. You can be a Monday morning General or Senator all day long, but what purpose does that serve? There are only 2 groups who are immediately important when violence is used as politics...those who give orders and those who execute them.
I am thoroughly impressed with the knowledge and rhetoric of many of you. Dahveed, Strng1dah, mmboost, dr3d1zzl3... to name a few (not trying to slight anyone), you are all gifted in that you are all have sense enough to realize that being a soldier indeed has some dire consequences and is mostly dirty and degrading; and that being the one giving orders is fraught with distasteful politics. It is much more comfortable to be a spectator. Remember, though, that there are no spectators in Israel nor Palestine. All of their rights, except natural rights, of course, are in question right now. They might not all be 'combatants' but so goes war. Right or wrong, war is so terrible, but it is something that won't go away unless smart guys like yourselves are able to do something about it. There are MANY things you can do; even something that seems very insignificant like buying kosher food and Desert Eagles.
There's got to be something more that you can do, though, besides moralizing on the internet. That's why I don't listen to people Fox News or even CNN. Those folks aren't even spectators. They're color commentators. What purpose do they even serve? Tell me the news, let me make up my mind whether I like the bias of the reporting, and let me decide right or wrong. Don't tell me what I should or shouldn't do or feel about Israel. Why is Palestine important to me? How is Nigeria more important than Israel? Like you, the most important things to me are my son and my wife, my soldiers, US citizens, then all of the citizens of the world...oh and my WRX fits in there somewhere.
I HAVE taken an oath that I would sacrifice my life (or hopefully the lives of others) to uphold. That's honor, no? How is making a statement honorable? To use the motto of the famous 22nd Infantry Regiment, "Deeds, not words".

I fully agree with every thing you say. And if it wasnt for my numerous injuries (shattered left arm 2 paltes and 14 screws, and torn acl and sliped disk) i would most likely be sleeping in some hole in the middle of no where with my fellow green berets (it was a life goal since the age of 6 or 7 no joke). But now im sorta screwed in that sense so looks like i will have to move into more of an intellegence or cyberwar role. Both of which i am still attempting to find the best path to.
And i agree with that motto. Unfortunatly the places i want to end up are not as simple to get as simply joining up and becoming trained. Need a cursed degree and years of experience to be able to be eligable.
So until i reach that goal (which i will in due time) all i have are words and minor deeds. (sharing info with the powers that be, helping develop and foster information on new and emerging trends and attacks, yada , yada). So until then all i can do is continue doing what i have be doing all the while doing what needs to be done. (that was fun)
