But Fox News and MSNBC are a much better source of information than say...CNN, or CBS, or ABC, NBC, BBC, Reuters, AP...you name it...all of the stories from the affornamed bureaus is horribley touchy feely bleeding heart stuff.

I would watch it in the morning to see what was going on in the world(I don't like reading on the internet)and everytime on of their right-winged talk shows would come on I wanted to throw something at my tv.

Contrary to popular belief, there is a land called Palestine, its called Jordan, and if that doesn't suffice, I hear they can find land if they just march into the mediterranean sea!!!

Seriously though, the Israeli people were kicked out of Canaan long ago, by the philistines, the romans, you name it, hence the Diaspora. They came back to take their land, after the Holocaust.

The British Empire was powerless to prevent the Jews from re-taking their land, and so began the nation of Israel.

The Jordanians, Egyptians, Syrians, on several attempts to try to prevent the creation of the jewish nation. On every attempt, the determined israelis remained united against the dissorganized arab armies.

You should learn your history. The land we call Israel was called Palestine by the Roman and for most parts ofe history afterwards was technically part of what we call Syria today, whoever owned it at the time, be it the Persians, Ottomans or British, save for short periods where parts were taken over by European Crusaders.

The modern state of Jordan was part of the former Transjordan, which comprised the modern Jordan and Israel, give or take a few pieces parts.

The People Israel were never kicked out by the Philistines.

That this is incorrect is easily supported by everything from newspapers to the records of the UN.

The creation of the State of Israel was a process started by the British for a myriad of reasons. It was the British, specifically Arthur James Balfour, British Foriegn Secretary, who wrote the Balfour Declaration which began the process to create a Jewish and an Arab state within the then-Palestine.

Of the many reasons, were having a basically European presence maintained in the MidEast where the extent of oil fields was recently realized. Also, for some it was thought that they could further New Testament eschatology through the (re)creation of Israel. It was also part of agreements with prominent Jewish scientists of Britian who contributed to the Allied victory.

You also did not point out that the cycle of violence was sparked by British mishandling, but really carried out by Jewish gangs... like the Haganah, run by none other than folks like Mechanam Begin and David Ben Gurion (who later became Prime Ministers of Israel). Gangs like the Haganah were bombing British police stations and terrorizing Arabs off of recently jewish-purchased land that they had lived on for centuries.

Its not wrong to buy land and take ownership of it. But what about compassion? What about remebering what it was to be a slave? What about every time you symbolically open your door to the poor and needy on Passover, must it only be symbolic? What it was to be persecuted throughout Europe for 2000 years? Arabs and Jews lives find together for thousands of years... until white europeans who called themselves Jews showed up in the 1850s and began to purchase land and develop. Dont get me wrong its a great idea! Except, they did it at the expense of people who were already there. Sounds a lot like white europeans and native americans.

If Israel would restore the dignity of the Arabs who live within their borders, obeying the commands of the God who gave them rights to the land in the first place, the hate and violence will end.
