just got outta the hospital..
Well last night I was on my way home from work, and I always drive highland road to avoid traffic. I was coming around the very first left hand turn just past the bridge at like 40, wasn't even speeding...and my rear end just gave out and it caught the edge of the road and sent me spinning towards this pole...I got it somewhat under control...but i was still sliding towards this telephone pole..so I gave it a lil gas, and this shot me away from the pole and out onto the road with my rear end off the ground. When the rear end finally hit the ground it made me fishtail...and I flew into this ditch and my car landed on its nose...and stood straight up for a good like 2-5 seconds and I blacked out...and some guy found me laying in the middle of the road. Im told that after I came to, I went into shock, but luckily there were a bunch of good sumeritans there to take care of me. I only remember the incidents up until I blacked out the first time, I guess I was rushed to john muir trauma center because I kept losing feeling in my entire body, and they also thought i ruptured my spleen. After a long night in the hospital, tons of tests, im only bruised and banged up and i have a pretty bad concussion. I remember catching a glimpse of my car at one point last night...body damage was minimal but two wheels are folded under the car and the other two are bent pretty bad...im not sure about anything else tho. Ill keep you guys updated once I talk to insurance and stuff.

Seriously though, good thing you are okay, that first turn on highland is kind of a *****, always scares me with that big drop down on the right.

Damn. Glad you're feeling ok; sucks about the car, but it can be replaced.
Every time I read one of these posts, I'm amazed at how severe some of these accidents are, and how minimal the damage is to occupants, it says a helluva lot for Subaru engineering.

I am glad that you are okay... i am sure you are still trying to rest. but what exactly do you mean when the rear end gave out? A blow out? Anyhow, i wish you a speedy recovery!

I am really happy you are feeling good. I know a guy who went to my highschool died on Tassajara Road. When you lose control its horrible. Hope everything works out good for you. Take it easy.

If it's wet out, you always need to be extra careful, but if Chuck says it's a crazy turn, i'll definitly believe it.

holy schmoly, we were just talking about how everyone we knew had crashed their car in the last week... hey just remember, it could have been a lot worse. glad to hear you're mostly okay, and i sincerely hope your cabeza continues to improve. if you have any questions about how to deal with your insurance company, pm me. i went through the exact same thing as you just did. my cabeza just wasn't banged up.

UPDATE: Just got the preliminary estimate...came out to about 8000 dollars, my insurance is cool tho, so they're going to replace all the aftermarket stuff i had on there cuz i need all new exhaust, full suspension, and they're giving me like 900 for the stock wheels...and i just bought the tarmac IIs so im gonna get potenza s03s with the money for the stock ones, I need new headlights and new foglights and new tail lights...pretty much a new car, they haven't checked the frame yet, this estimate was preliminary, so there's still a chance that they might total the car, the guy said I landed so hard that the body panels just bent from landing awkward...:-/
