This is the Q-Stretch Kit by Yakima, required for use on the older body style coupes. I used it for two seasons on my old 99 2.5RS, and it is still in perfect condition. Bought a WRX this past year, and don't need it anymore.

yeah, basically, if you have a four door, then you dont need the stretch kit. plus, i'm sure this is what you found out, but you would need the entire rack in addition.
