Of course all of this came at a premium when it came to the cost of the puppy but we thought it would be worth it in the long run to not have the same leg/joint issues Maddie had.

Emma's was an accute injury that could have happened to any dog, we think she took a hit to the side of her leg when she was up on her back legs only. We did not see the collision happen, but we heard it, but based on the way the two dogs would play and the type of injury, we think this is what happened...

I bought my dog out infront of Bel-Air!!!

Emma is not as tough as Maddie, but she needs to start using the leg - it is part of the recovery.

Well it's certainly good to hear that it's not a breed defect. Hopefully she recovers fully and quickly.

I'm screwed this week. Two major exams. I can't believe school is already 5 weeks in, it feels like I've done nothing. Oh wait Owned.

And I have a feeling I'll be regretting life tomorrow - I told my boss today that I'm bored and she's going to see to it that I'm not bored anymore

Labs and other hunting type dogs seem to be more prone to this type of injury, but it can happen to any dog. THe company that makes the knee implant plates makes them for dogs that are 20 pounds on up, so it could easily happen to a drop kick dog also...

I'm going there this weekend to go sailing with some friends and watch the Fleet Week air show.
