Plus to race the scoob I'd probably do more suspension work.. Better / adjustable swaybars.. countless bushings and braces.. Probably a bit of work on the rear geometry..
I dunno if my daddy budget can handle anything more than the occasional fun trackday in the scoob..
I'm leaning towards saving the cash for the bikes.. that extra 4 grand to spend on the bike would mean big bore kit, rods and pistons, clutch, suspension rebuild with proper springs and valving for my.. ah.. heft.. And a nice tune..

Yeah I'm really leaning that way... The only problem I am running into now is 5th gear...
The Mfactory set is a close ratio set.. It is a little bit taller than the gears in the 6 speed basically.. (Except first, the Mfactory first gear is taller than the stock 5 speed first gear which is rad)
4th gear with my tires and a 7500 RPM redline only puts me a 115. Im already trapping mid 119's in the 1/4 so I'd have to shift to 5th..
If I keep a stock 5th gear (.738) - I will be shifting into 5th at 4400 RPMish.. I need to go take my car out and get a feel for 5th gear pull at 4400 RPM's but that doesn't sound so good on the track..
The Mfactory 5th gear is pretty short.. It would put my highway cruising at 75mph into the 3700 rpm range.. It's only slightly taller than the factory 4th gear.... Top speed would be limited to around 150 mph.. But highway fuel economy would be terrible unless I slow the eff down.. Humm
Ideally I'd want a 5th gear around .830 or so.. That would still give me decent highway cruising and put the 5th gear shift above 5krpm....
Id still rather do that than a 6 speed..

On stock gearing a 6 speed can only hit around 105 MPH @ 7500RPM in 4th..
With a 3.4ish final drive youd be at around 2800@80 in 6th and around 120 in 4th @ around 7800...
Without really thinking much about tire size..

Ahhhhhh.. Totally different ratios than an STI 6 speed..
STI 6 speed:
1st: 3.636
2nd: 2.375
3rd: 1.761
4th:1.346
5th:0.971
6th: 0.756
LGT 6 speed:
1st 3.636
2nd 2.235
3rd 1.521
4th 1.137
5th 0.891
6th 0.707
The LGT's 4th is much, much taller than an STI and puts 126 in 4th in reach.
