Yeah, I found that to be the case for me back in HS... I turn the buzzer up really loud and put the clock on the other side of the room.

already tried that, I get up, turn it off/press sleep and lay back down

Meh, I hate clocks with blue/green/etc backlights. Any clock I get needs red numbers.
