This is getting annoying!! In performance the **** just bounces around like it's on steriods constantly going up down up down up down

kill the Advast4 security stuff and see if it makes a difference

if not.. flatten and re-image.. and be done with it.

you are at a point that you need to kill all 3rd party processes and see if that makes a difference.

if it is still running like ***, I would re-image the box and start with a fresh install, and see how the performance is.

If it is still horrid, then it would rule out software and you can start looking at the hardware angle.

Go to the manufacturer site and download the correct drivers for all your hardware.

Also, did you yank the old RAM out and try it just with the new RAM?

Does anyone know if that Chevron is really crowded yet? I'm thinking of making a side jaunt on the way home but don't want to waste too much time.

old ram is completely removed... Was 2 256's now it's 2 1gigs... problem happened before, and the ram did not make it better at ALL!!!

I guess I'll back up the school work again, and pay CLOSE attention to what I install on this computer to see when it starts becoming slow again

I reinstalled before and it worked fine for a lil while... I'm thinking maybe one of the music files is corrupt even though I use the same files on my desktop and it doesn't effect it?

wow, had the worst customer service experience at petsmart ever (and it's pet's mart cause no one there is smart). I go to get some fish gravel and noooo one was there to help me and there was very little to choose from. I finally pick out one that I'm pretty sure will look good in my new tank and as I cart the 25# bag of rocks to the front I see something else I like (hidden filter/heater thingy) and I look everywhere but see no price (the product was on the ground, not even on a shelf). I work in retail and we dont put anything out without a price on it, except for food but we have a food rpice list by our food room.

Anywas, I bring my rocks to the front where the retard I've had to deal with before is and I say "Can you look up the price of the blah blah blah flor me?" and he goes "no, I need the number off of it." and doesnt continue with "so let me go get the number" like he should have. Atleast he does page someone to go to the fish department for me (since no one ever came by when I was standing there for 10 minutes before) and the guy comes and says "I dont know the price, but you can bring it to the front." I KNOW they have a price list cause they've looked up other things for me in the past.

Turns out they wanted $24 for a plastic log so I said **** that and just bought the rocks, left, and called the manager to tell him how horrible the workers were.....now I have a gift card waiting for me there :-D
