Takeing apart Door panels

Anyone know how to properly take these apart? I got some crazy rattles on both my front doors when listening to loud music. I think im going to open these up and put some sound deadening materials in here.

Give me a simple step by step if anyone has the time

It's a pretty simple job just a few screws and it pops right off

Remove the bezel trim around the door latch handle.
Easier said than done ...

Anyone who knows my stereo habits of the past knows that my panels have been off a zillion times. As far as the handle trim goes, I stopped trying to remove it on its own. When you pull the entire door panel off after removing the controls and bolts, the handle bezel will pop off in the process. It usually goes flying, but I have never broken a bezel doing it this way. *warning* it will fly off*Be aware.

Door panels come off pretty easy, just 2-3 screws from handle area. As for the rattle, I just put a small amount of butyl around each clip to stop the panel from rattling against the metal of the door.

1. Remove plastic screw and expansion washer at upper door jamb - phillips head plastic screw head.
2. pry carefully up the screw head cover in the recessed handle on the arm rest and remove the screw. I forget if it is the front or rear doors, but one pair also has a steel screw to the steel frame that needs to be removed. You will see it when you remove the recessed cup in the arm rest.
3. Do not try to pry the bezel around the handle or you will end up with scratches to the door panel and/or snap the bezel. I have done this twice. Instead when you begin to remove the door panel see below, slowly ease it around the top and the bezel will just pop off. It is a little scary as if feels like it will break, but this method will ensure that you do not scratch the crap out of the door panel. If the bezel does break at least that is a cheap item to replace. None broke on me with this method. I figured this out while replacing Nate's panels on his car with my panels from my old car (unfortunately I had already scratched the door panel from a previous removal).
4. To remove the door panel carefully pull from the bottom - you will here loud pops as you pry the panel free - do not worry this is caused by the plastic grommets that hold the door in place. Once they are all free, lift the door panel veritcally as it hangs on some metal clips at the top of the door. To free the panel completely from the door you need to unplug the various electrical controls - windows and locks.
5. To reinstall, just revers the order. Make sure all the grommets are in the door panel. Sometimes when you pop the panel off the grommets stay attached to the metal door. It is immpossible to pop them back to the panel as they slide into the plastic panel and pop into the metal door. You will see what I mean.

Hope that helps.

that you so much guys..

I'm gonna carefully take em apart later this afternoon. I'll be applying some stick on velco (soft side) to anything that looks like it can rattle.

ps. so glad I can spell "taking" correctly in the topic =D
