Stereo Question-No Answer in Audio Forum

Sorry guys, but I didn't get any answers in the audio forum.

I need to know the best place to install this amp (A Kicker 700.5) in a wagon. Not going to use a subwoofer at this time, just bought it used for some more juice for my Alpine speakers. I'll probably go with a professional install, but any advice in advance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Did you mean an install location in the car or a shop to do the install?

If you're looking for a spot in the car, I had my Helix 5 channel amp under the driver seat when I had my WRX wagon. It just barely fit.

Thanks for the advice, guys. At this point, I'm seriously considering just selling it and getting a smaller amp. Much appreciated!

mine is mounted on the sub box, using a bolt in the trunk as a ground. works fine. incredibly easy to do. you can also use a bolt from one of your seats to do it if you want it closer up towards the front of the car.

So $100 is about average for a sub and amp install? I'll be getting my old sub and amp from my Saturn, but wasn't sure if it's worth the trouble to install it myself or have a pro do it.

Also, since I have the premium sound system, does the "subwoofer" under the seat need to be disconnected when I hook up my own sub?

I went and installed basically every possible speaker component you can into my STI(high's/mids/lows/subs/Deck) It was a PITA(basically rewiring the entire thing lol), but that being said would I pay 100 dollars to have someone install it? Hell no. Definately wasn't a difficult install. Not to mention I installed alot more wires then just an amp/sub... You can probably find a friend who is very capable of doing it, and it will only cost a 6 pack of beer

Since then I have removed all the speakers and went back to the factory parts... no point having a system in a car that is basically only ever driven on a track haha
