An easy question to answer
OK so I whant to do my first mod for handling. So far I get that a good thing to buy is a sway bar and endlinks if I can afford it (btw I already have new tires they are michlen exaltos)
I hear ppl saying to get 22mm bars and also ppl saying that those can destroy your car and wreck your sway bars. I want an increase in performance but I dont want to risk damaging anything. What size should I go with in the front and in the back?
Also I dont think I can afford endlinks for front and rear, so would it even be worth it to get endlinks? Or would it be a good idea to get a rsb and endlinks and keep the front setup stock?
What setup is best to go with? Keep in mind price.
Thanks for your help:
Luke.

When you adjust the sway bar what exactly is that adjusting? And should the front and rear bars be the same size?
And also I have looked at some sway bars and I was wondering if it would do any good to just get the rear sway bar and endlinks, is it worth it to get the front as well?
Thanks:
Luke

most adjustable bars aren't the diameter that they advertise, they just simulate a bar of that diameter. you adjust them through a series of holes in the mounting portion of the bar, most of them have three settings.
right now, i've got a Cusco adjustable rear bar, and a non-adjustable Cusco front with Perrin end links in the rear. if you don't want to do the front end links right away due to financial reasons, it's not a big deal. the rear bar, links and the front bar will make such a differance that you may not even feel the need for front links. due to the rear links being plastic, i'd strongly reccomend getting aftermerrket end links at the same time or before you install a rear sway bar.
i found that the front bar made the car handle much more smoothly and more predictably than the rear bar on it's own.

What type of tire are the Michelins? I have never heard of them. As for endlinks, it's not really the plastic part that flexes so much, it's the soft bushings that are in place to prevent noise from getting transmitted to the chassis. I am running Whiteline solid endlinks and a 20mm FHI RSB in my RS (would be 22 if I had a GD chassis) and I see no need in further upgrades. I also have STi strut tops, which is part of why I kept stock endlinks If I had stock strut tops I would probably get some front links too. I would get teh RSB first (it really does make a bigger difference in at-the-limit handling than just endlinks) but the next mod after that should be links. Both are worth having.

no, the front and rear sway bars don't need to be the same size. the cusco bars that i have are 21mm in the front, and then 22/23/34mm adjustable in the rear. the idea isn't to match the specific numerical diameter of the bar, but to balance the handling of the car with the proper size bar.
